Busy busy busy...
This is definitely not a hands-off/special occasion only dining room. Notice the brightly colored & well designed high chair pushed up to the table just like the rest of the chairs & the salvaged wood dining table (from an old bowling lane) & the former school house chalk board.
This is the first "one bathroom" house we wouldn't mind sharing with a bunch of kiddos. The splash of color is spot on: playful enough for children & sophisticated enough for adults and guests.
An area off the kitchen was transformed into a makeshift mud room with buckets, bins & bleachers?? Yes, that's right - the shelves & bench are salvaged bleacher rows.
Speaking of mud rooms, stay tuned for our update on the Architectural Digest Home Show in NYC and the item we discovered that gives you the mud room of your dreams without remodeling!

It's Easy being Green...

We can not wait use pieces from kids decor newcomer, Oilo, in upcoming projects. This new brand was launched by two design-minded women "to fill a void in the category for high quality designer look and quality nursery and home décor without designer prices". They definitely succeeded as each piece is unique, playful but not too cute-sy and have a less shocking sticker price than similar style-setters. Check out their decor items, bedding and comfy furnishings and read more about their unique name here.
Our favorite gadget the Beaba Babycook has been rated a favorite by Parents on Williams-Sonoma.com. This wonder, green machine does it all: steam-cooks, blends, purees, de-frosts and re-heats fresh, healthy baby meals of your choosing in minutes. Definitely at the very top of our "Dream Registry" (be sure to check it out in the bundle shop for ideas on the perfect shower gift for friends & family) as well as the perfect coordinating cookbook. The new Baby & Toddler Cookbook has delicious & healthy ideas and is sectioned into age-specific recipes. We love their comforting and considerate outlook: "For babies and toddlers, eating is a playful exploration of food and all its delicious possibilities". Not a cook? Definitely check it out for fun plating ideas; no more boring food on a plate!
